Low Energy Fix

I heard a physician at a conference years ago say,

“If low on energy, start with Vitamin B1. If that doesn’t work, try B2, B3, and work your way down the line until you feel better.”

The most scientific approach?

No, but it is simple and easy to understand.

Low energy can be caused by lots of things, but many times it is due to a “clog” in your energy metabolism. So even if you eat the right things, your body may struggle to convert the food into energy you can use.

Inside every cell in your body - except red blood cells - you have thousands of mitochondria, which are like little nuclear power plants. The mitochondria take your foods - fats, carbs, proteins - and convert them into electrons which are like rocket fuel for your body.

But the mitochondria need all kinds of vitamins and minerals (and red light) to do their job properly. So nutritional deficiencies can cause a “clog” in your energy production.

B vitamins are super important here.

So if you are feeling low energy, I’d suggest trying a B vitamin supplement. You can try B-1 on its own, or a “B complex” which has some of all the B vitamins.
